Iran’s PMO unveils volume of cargo loaded, unloaded in Fereidoonkenar port

About 168,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Fereidoonkenar port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, so, 7,950 tons of cargo were loaded and 160,000 tons were unloaded in the port last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 0.2 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020).

“In addition, 7,950 tons of cargo were exported and 139,000 tons were imported through the Fereidoonkenar port over last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

At the same time, 17,700 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for transit and 2,800 tons for other purposes, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 122,000 tons of essential products, 7,700 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Fereidoonkenar port during last Iranian year.

Moreover, 2,270 tons of chemicals and 35,500 tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded at the port within mentioned period, the statistics said.

Reportedly, a total of 123 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 18.1 percent compared to the preceding year. So, 150 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the preceding year.

The Iran's Fereidoonkenar port is located on 69 hectares of land. The port has 2 platforms and 700,000 tons of cargo can be loaded and unloaded in the port per year.
