Iran shares data on goods loaded at Arak Railway Station

More than 135,000 tons of goods were loaded at the stations of the Arak County Railway Office in the Markazi Province (central Iran) in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), the Director-General of Arak County Railway Office Hamid Gogochani said, Trend report citing the office’s information portal.

The director-general said that this is an increase of 21 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.

Gogochani added that while during the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021), a total of 1.12 million tons of goods were loaded at the stations of the Arak County Railway Office. This is an increase of 11 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, through March 19, 2020).

According to him, the goods were mainly shipped to ports in southern Iran and Central Asian countries, and Turkey. The loaded goods were mainly mazut, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), chemicals, and petrochemicals.

“In addition, 5.06 million tons of goods were unloaded at the stations of the Arak County Railway Office last Iranian. This is an increase of 9 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year,” the director-general noted.

Reportedly, the Arak Railway Office of Iran controls 545 km of railway lines in 5 provinces of Iran - Qom, Markazi, Lorestan, Hamadan, and Kermanshah, and 21 stations operate under this office.
