Cargo transportation by air in Azerbaijan had increased from January through June 2021, Trend reports citing a report of the State Statistical Committee.
According to the source, in the reporting period 227,700 tons of cargo had been transported in the country, up 22.9 percent on annual basis.
Meanwhile, passenger traffic by air amounted to 345,500 people, which is 22.7 percent less than in the same period last year.
Some 99.1 percent of the air transportation accounted for public, and 0.9 percent - private sector.
In the first half of 2021, cargo transportation by all modes of transport in Azerbaijan amounted to 92.2 million tons, which is decline of 4.2 percent year on year, and passenger traffic - 555.1 million people, down 19.5 percent compared to the first half of 2020.
Air transport accounted for 0.2 percent of all cargo transportation.
