The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by about 28 percent in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2021), compared to the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, a total of 4.29 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port in the fourth month (about 2.94 million tons loaded, 1.79 million tons unloaded).
“Also, 2.25 million tons of cargo were exported and 1.65 million tons were imported through the Imam Khomeini port over the reporting month. Also, 7,000 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for transit,” the statistics said.
Within the fourth month, 51,400 tons of cargo were loaded and 121,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage, the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 6,070 tons of cargo were loaded and 4,150 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment. Also, 838 tons of cargo were loaded, and 12,300 tons were unloaded for other purposes.
“So, 1.53 million tons of essential products, 271,000 tons of metal products, 261,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 3,520 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 282,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port in the 4th month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Moreover, 25,400 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 148,000 tons of container products, 1.76 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port over the reporting month, the statistics said.
As reported, about 12.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the fourth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.99 million tons were loaded and 5.5 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 20.8 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
