Iran sees increase in activities of Fereidoonkenar port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 9

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Fereidoonkenar port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) increased by 148 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (June 23 through August 22, 2021), compared to the 4th month (June 22 through July 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 20,300 tons of cargo were unloaded in the Fereidoonkenar port during the reporting month.

Within the 5th month, 12,200 tons of cargo were imported through this port. Meanwhile 8,110 tons of cargo were unloaded for transit.

“So, 12,200 tons of essential products, 1,940 tons of metal products, 6,160 tons of crude oil and oil products were unloaded in the Fereidoonkenar port in the fifth month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.

As reported, about 11.3 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the fifth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.98 million tons were loaded and 5.29 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9.8 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.

The Iran's Fereidoonkenar port is located on 69 hectares of land. The port has 2 platforms and 700,000 tons of cargo can be loaded and unloaded in the port per year.
