Iran eyes decline in cargo movements in Fereidoonkenar port

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Fereidoonkenar port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) decreased by 0.2 percent in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2021), compared to the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 17,600 tons of cargo were unloaded in the Fereidoonkenar port during the reporting month.

“Within the 7th month, 14,400 tons of cargo were imported through this port, while 3,240 tons of cargo were unloaded for transit,” the statistics said.

So, 14,200 tons of essential products, 31 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 66 tons of container products, 3,240 tons of crude oil and oil products were unloaded in the Fereidoonkenar port in the seventh month of the current Iranian year.

As reported, about 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the seventh month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.6 million tons were loaded and 6.36 million tons were unloaded.

This is an increase of 12.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.

The Iran's Fereidoonkenar port is located on 69 hectares of land. The port has 2 platforms and 700,000 tons of cargo can be loaded and unloaded in the port per year.
