Activities in Astara port soar

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 43 percent in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2021), compared to the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 26,500 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the seventh month. Of this, 14,700 tons were loaded and 11,800 tons were unloaded.

About 14,000 tons of cargo were exported and 5,0760 tons were imported through the Astara port over the reporting month.

Also, 767 tons of cargo were loaded and 6,020 tons were unloaded in the port for transit during the 7th month.

According to the statistics, 6,900 tons of essential products, 647 tons of metal products, 6,800 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 7th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 37 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 9,700 tons of chemicals, 49 tons of leather goods, clothing, wood materials, paper, 823 tons of container products and 1,530 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the seventh month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.6 million tons were loaded and 6.36 million tons were unloaded.

This is an increase of 12.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
