The Azerbaijani Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the Azerbaijan International Road Carriers Association (ABADA) are expanding the opportunities for local road carriers to enter the international cargo transportation market, ABADA told Trend on Jan. 5.

According to the message, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport has extended the term of the memorandum signed with ABADA for international cargo transportation.

“Moreover, this document is aimed at creating more favorable conditions for expanding cooperation in the field of international cargo transportation via road transport,” ABADA said.

According to ABADA, the "permit application forms" also contribute to the development of multilateral and bilateral international cargo transportation, ensuring transparency in the distribution of "permit application forms" between local road carriers and international structures.

A memorandum "on cooperation in the field of international cargo transportation via road transport" between the ministry and ABADA was signed for the first time on May 27, 2021.

All the terms and conditions of the memorandum signed last year will also remain in force in the future.

“A special commission was created to distribute "permit application forms",” ABADA said. “The regulations on the distribution of "permit application forms" were established. There was the complete transition to a non-cash payment system. A unified database of trucks was created. The clear distribution criteria of "permit application forms" between carriers were determined due to the collected information on the international cargo transportation market.”

“Moreover, as a result of analyzing the international cargo transportation market, a basis was created for the formation of new approaches for the development of this sector in the long term,” ABADA added.
