Iran records decrease in cargo movements at Amirabad port

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) decreased by 20 percent in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 23 through December 21, 2021), compared to the 8th month (October 23 through November 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 209,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, 77,700 tons were loaded and about 131,000 tons were unloaded.

In addition, about 74,300 tons of cargo were exported and 124,000 tons were imported through the Amirabad port in the ninth month.

Within the 9th month, 3,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 7,140 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.

According to the statistics, 334 tons of cargo were loaded and 310 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes during the ninth month.

"So, 106,000 tons of essential products, 14,000 tons of metal products, 62,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,640 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port in the 9th month of the current Iranian year," the statistics said.

Moreover, 5,300 tons of chemicals, 2,520 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 644 tons of container products, 16,500 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port over the mentioned month.

About 11.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the ninth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.28 million tons were loaded and 5.64 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 8.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
