Loading/unloading activity in Iran’s Imam Khomeini port up

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by 2.5 percent in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2021 through January 20, 2022), compared to the 9th month (November 22 through December 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 3.88 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port in the 10th month. This figure stood at 3.78 million tons in the 9th month.

“Also, 1.68 million tons of cargo were exported and 1.8 million tons were imported through the Imam Khomeini port over the reporting month. At the same time, 119,000 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for transit,” the statistics said.

Within the 10th month, 61,800 tons of cargo were loaded and 194,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.

According to the statistics, 5,230 tons of cargo were loaded and 6,800 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment. Furthermore, 343 tons of cargo were loaded, and 5,850 tons were unloaded for other purposes.

So, 1.46 million tons of essential products, 187,000 tons of metal products, 416,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 336 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts, 417,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port in the 10th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 60,700 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 82,000 tons of container products, 1.26 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

About 17.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 10th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 11.9 million tons were loaded and 6.03 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 42 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
