BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 22. The value of goods transported by air in Azerbaijan in January through February 2022 increased, Trend reports citing the State Customs Committee (SCC).
According to the SCC, this indicator exceeded $251.517 million, up by $29.249 million (13.15 percent) compared to the same period in 2021.
In the reporting period, over 9,734 tons of air cargo was transshipped, which totaled 8,080 tons (almost 5.9 times) more than January through February in 2021, the agency said.
Meanwhile, the volume of freight exported by air exceeded 8,098 tons, and the value – $31.083 million (an increase of 20 percent).
Furthermore, 1,452 tons (a decrease of 1.09 percent) of the air transportation accounted for imports, amounting to nearly $226.434 million (a growth of 23.23 percent).
In January through February 2022, the cost of cargo shipments by all means of transport in Azerbaijan rose above $7.94 billion, including export worth over $5.9 billion, and imports – more than $1.97 million, added the SCC.
