BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14. A total of 11 million tons of cargo were transported from Iran’s Qazvin Province, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Director General of the Qazvin Province Roads and Transportation Department Javad Hagh Lotfi, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
This is an increase of 3.2 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), the director general noted.
Hagh Lotfi added that minerals, industrial products and soft drinks were main goods transported from the Qazvin Province to other provinces of Iran.
According to him, despite a number of problems, such as the coronavirus pandemic, more than 156,000 tons of essential products and animal feed were transported to the province from the south ports of Iran in last Iranian year.
“At the same time, 133,000 tons of sugar beet were transported from the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) to the Qazvin Province for processing,” Hagh Lotfi said.
The director general also said that there are currently more than 10,000 trucks in Qazvin Province.
