Kazakhstan boosts passenger transport indicators

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 18. A total of 575.3 million passengers were transported in Kazakhstan by all means of transport in July 2022, which is 2.7 percent more than in July 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

In turn, the volume of passengers transported over the period from January through July 2022 amounted to 3.8 billion people, which is 11.3 percent more year-on-year compared to 3.4 billion over last year.

Thus, the majority of the passengers were transported to Kazakhstan’s Almaty city. The number of passengers transported in the city amounted to 152.06 million people in July and 1.03 billion people over the reporting period of 2022, which is 3.7 percent less and 7.5 percent more than during the same period last year, respectively.

Almaty city is followed by the Kostanay region with 56.8 million people transported in July 2022 (an increase of 8.8 percent compared to July 2021). The number of passengers transported in the region during the reporting period amounted to 367.06 million people, which compared to 328.6 million during the same period last year, indicates a 11.7-percent increase.

Pavlodar region takes third place country-wide by the passengers transported in July 2022 (47.1 million people, up by 7.6 percent). The number of passengers transported in the region over the period from January through July 2022 amounted to 314.6 million, which is 7.8 percent more than during the same period last year (291.8 million people).

The least passenger volume was recorded in the Mangystau region. The transported passenger volume stood at 2.9 million in July 2022, which is 6 percent more than in July 2021.

The volume of passengers transported over seven months of 2022 was 19.8 million, which is 23.7 percent more year-on-year.
