BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 5. Last week, the profit from freight and passenger transportation through the Azerbaijani section of Transport Corridor Europe Caucasus Asia (TRACECA) amounted to 367.8 million manat ($216.3 million), Trend reports.

Moreover, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide a loan of up to $4 million to the Azerbaijani W&E Forward logistics company and Alat Bay Industrial Development LLC (AFEZCO) for a project of the construction of a warehouse with a 5,000-ton storage capacity.

This project can be the first in Azerbaijan to receive a certificate of Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiency (green building certification system). In addition, the project’s implementation will facilitate the flow of transit and import goods by reducing the cost and time of delivery between the ports of Georgia and Baku.

Last week it also became known that bus trips on new routes to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan are planned to be launched. The frequency of trips varies depending on the direction, and, based on the demand, work is underway to increase the frequency of trips in all available directions, as well as plans to open new directions.
