BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 22. Cargo turnover between Russia's Astrakhan and Azerbaijani seaports exceeded 27,000 tons in 2022 which is 42 percent more than in 2021, Trend reports referring to the Russian media.
In 2022, companies in the region managed to increase exports of Russian metal, equipment, and other goods to Azerbaijan by sea. In addition, agricultural products were delivered from Azerbaijan by rail.
A series of negotiations on shipbuilding was held in the Astrakhan Business Center in Baku throughout the year, where industrial cooperation and the possible construction of ship hulls in the Astrakhan region with subsequent completion at the shipyards of Baku were discussed.
In December, Astrakhan agricultural producers visited Azerbaijan. They also visited a number of local agricultural holdings and farms. An agro-industrial conference and negotiations were held on cooperation in the fields of meat processing, animal husbandry, greenhouse farming, and the organization of supplies of various goods.
