ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 18. The Turkmenistan's Bagtyyar ferry arrived in the Russian port of Olya from the Turkmenbashi International Seaport along the International North-South Transport Corridor, Trend reports.
According to the Southern Customs Department of the Russian
Federation, this is the first ferry flight from Turkmenbashi with
40 cars and trailers, with fresh tomatoes in the cargo compartments
totaling around 800 tons.
Special container bodies were utilized to transport perishable
commodities while preserving the proper temperature.
On the way back to Turkmenistan, the ferry transported 800 tons of
Belarusian cheese, Russian dairy products, and consumer items
across the Caspian Sea in 42 cargo vans.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan, seeking to strengthen its role as a transit hub in the Central Asian region, is actively developing cargo transportation, especially through ferry service along the Caspian Sea.
This strategically important area is supported through the constant modernization of port infrastructure, expansion of the fleet, and improvement of logistics systems, and initiatives of this kind contribute not only to increasing the volume of trade and economic growth of the country but also to strengthening its position in international trade relations.
