BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 7. Kazakhstan produced around 1.06 million tons of meat in 2022, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

This constitutes an increase of 0.4 percent compared to the 2021 figures.

According to the ministry, horse meat production increased by 4.3 percent, while poultry production increased by 3.1 percent.

Development of the agricultural sector remains one of the key priorities for the government of Kazakhstan. This is a central element of the strategy to ensure long-term food security in the country.

As a result of these efforts, an increase in agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output were recorded in 16 Kazakh regions from January through October 2022.

Further improvements are expected to take place in the coming years. Earlier in December 2022, the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Yerbol Karashukeev said that Kazakhstan expects to implement 800 agricultural projects with a total investment value of 2.6 trillion Kazakh tenge (around $5.6 billion) by 2025.
