BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 10. Turkish businesses will supply Kazakh farmers with 1,000 tons of premium quality cotton seeds, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
The agreement was reached in the framework of the “Perspectives for the cotton growing development in Kazakhstan” business forum.
“PROgen” company, representing Türkiye, offered new sorts of seeds resistant to diseases and pests, which appealed to Kazakh farmers. The company will receive the funds in several installments.
Speaking at the event, Abulkhair Tamabek, Kazakh Deputy Minister of Agriculture, said that the government is interested in developing the cotton industry.
According to the deputy minister, in a bid to facilitate the growth of the industry, the government considers increasing the share of local content in public procurement, including household goods and cotton processing products.
