ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 22. Russian LUKOIL-Ekoenergo Kazakhstan LLP will build a solar power plant (SES) with a capacity of 5 MW in the Almaty region of the country, Trend reports.
According to an official source, the company previously announced a tender to select a contractor for the construction of this station.
Applications from participants were accepted until the end of July, and the winner should be determined in August.
Furthermore, according to the company's documents, the work is planned to be carried out in 2023–2024.
The solar power plant is planned to be built on the free territories of 'LUKOIL Lubricants Central Asia LLP', which has built a lubricant plant in Kazakhstan.
To note, LUKOIL-Ekoenergo Kazakhstan LLP (a subsidiary of 'LUKOIL-Energo' LLC) was founded in February this year to develop the field of electricity production at solar power plants and other renewable energy production facilities in Kazakhstan.
