ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 27. The volume of production in the Zhetysu region of Kazakhstan increased by 5.8 percent, agricultural indicators by 1.7 percent, and trade and construction by 1.6 times, said the head of the regional executive power, Beybit Isabayev, Trend reports.
He informed the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about the socio-economic indicators of the region.
As he noted, 198,400 square meters of housing were put into operation, which is 11.2 percent more than for the same period in 2022.
"213.9 billion tenge (about $451 million) of investments was attracted into the regional economy with an increase of 23.9 percent, including private investments, which increased by 15.7 percent," he said.
According to him, in the industrial sector of the region, 533 enterprises are involved, which created 26,600 jobs. The production volume amounted to 230.1 billion tenge (about $485 million). This year, it is planned to commission 14 facilities with a total cost of 46.9 billion tenge (about $99 million).
"The volume of gross agricultural output increased by 1.7 percent. The total sown area was expanded by 1,900 hectares, including the area sown with sugar beets, which was doubled and increased to 8,700 hectares," he said.
He also noted that the Aksu sugar plant was completely renovated and put into operation.
"The Koksu sugar factory produced 70,000 tons of sugar. To date, these enterprises have received more than 205,000 tons of raw materials from 280 farms, of which 56,000 tons were processed and 7,000 tons of sugar were obtained.
In turn, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev positively assessed the pace of development in the region and instructed it to continue working in this direction.
