The issue of raw materials supply to SOCAR's refinery in Kyrgyzstan is under discussion, president of the Oil Traders Association of Kyrgyzstan Zhumakadyr Akeneev told Trend on Thursday.
"The issue of raw materials supply is currently being addressed. China will lay the pipeline to its territory through Kazakhstan," Akeneev said.
As Akeneev noted, a tripartite meeting of representatives of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan on the project implementation is expected, however, its timing remains unknown.
As reported previously, the city of Tokmak was selected as the site for construction of SOCAR's oil refinery in Kyrgyzstan.
The agreement to consider the issue of constructing SOCAR refinery in Kyrgyzstan was reached by the parties at the meeting between Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev and head of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev held on January 19, 2012.
