BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 1. Passenger transportation by road transport (buses, trolleybuses, and taxis) in Kyrgyzstan exceeded 136.1 million people from January through March 2023, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
As statistical data shows, the figure increased by 5 percent year-on-year (130.2 million people in 1Q202).
The bulk of passenger transportation fell on Kyrgyzstan’s buses – they transported 118.3 million people in 1Q2023, which is an increase of 4.1 percent compared to 1Q2022 (113.4 million people).
The country’s trolleybuses have transported 9.4 million people during the reporting period, which is 8.4 percent more than in 1Q2022 (8.7 million people).
At the same time, some 8.2 million people were transported by taxis, which is a 4.1-percent growth year-on-year (7.9 million in 1Q2022).
Overall, passenger transportation in Kyrgyzstan exceeded 136.4 million people in 1Q2023, which is an increase of 4.5 percent or 5.8 million people year-on-year (130.5 million people in 1Q2022).
An increase in passenger transportation was registered in all regions of Kyrgyzstan.
