Income of Kyrgyzstan's non-banking financial organizations increases

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 3. Income of non-banking financial organizations in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 6.153 billion soms ($69.3 million) from January through June 2023, which is a 36.1-percent increase compared to the first half of the previous year, Trend reports.

Data from the country's State Statistics Committee shows that expenses during the same period increased by about 30 percent, reaching 4.157 billion soms ($46.8 million).

In the first half of this year, nearly 63 percent of non-banking financial organizations generated profits, totaling 2.155 billion soms ($24.2 million), while losses happened in 16 percent of these institutions, amounting to 1.587 billion soms ($1.78 million).

The net financial result of non-banking financial organizations for the first half of this year was a profit of 1.996 billion soms ($22.5 million), which is a 43.2-percent increase compared to the same period last year.

There were 601 non-banking financial organizations and 371 of their branches operating in Kyrgyzstan as of the end of June 2023. The number of clients, both legal entities and individuals, reached 674,400, which is 23,300 (or 3.6 percent) more than the number on July 1, 2022.
