BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. The current loan portfolio of EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) projects in Tajikistan is estimated at 525 million euros as of February 28, Trend reports with reference to EBRD.
According to the bank, the loan portfolio was allocated for the 67 active projects.
The major part of the portfolio, 88 percent or 461 million euros, focuses on sustainable infrastructure.
The remained 12 percent is spilled between: financial institutions - 34 million euros, industry, trade and agriculture – 30 million euros.
Meanwhile, over the last five years, the biggest amount of money in Tajikistan was allocated in 2020 (131 million euros). The bank has invested 21 million euros in the country’s projects in 2022.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, being the country's leading investor, has been cooperating with Tajikistan since 1992. In total, the bank has invested about 918 million euros to implement 157 projects throughout the country.
The EBRD in Tajikistan focuses on the improvement of Tajikistan’s infrastructure, its regional connectivity, and employment opportunities in the country.
