DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 30. The average petrol price in Tajikistan stood at 11.5 somoni ($1.05) as of October 23, which is a 1-percent increase compared to the previous week’s figures of October 16, Trend reports.
Data from the WFP (World Food Programme) reveals that these prices have increased by 11 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
In the capital city of Dushanbe, the price reached 11 somoni ($1.01), marking a 1-percent increase from the figures reported on October 16 and a 13 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022.
The highest petrol prices were observed in Murghob town and Ishkoshim village at 13 somoni ($1.19), which remained consistent with the previous week but increased by 4 percent and two percent year-on-year correspondingly.
Conversely, petrol prices in Istaravshan town, Isfara city, and Kushoniyon district were the lowest at 10.9 somoni ($0.92).
WFP Tajikistan, in partnership with the Neksigol Mushovir advisory organization, has been monitoring commodity prices in markets across the country. Price data is collected through a network of field enumerators, with multiple traders interviewed for each commodity, and average prices recorded.
