Carrying out major work to ensure the safety of the nation's gene pool, you wage an uncompromising struggle against drug addiction which is evil and dangerous for all humanity, in the name of firmness of our independent state, said the address of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the establishment of the Anti-Drug State Service.

The address was in context with the 'Working plan on combating illegal trafficking of drugs, psychoactive drugs and precursors as well as helping people addicted by drugs and psychoactive drugs for 2011-2015'. The country is taking effective measures aimed at combating illegal drug trafficking, prophylaxis, and the treatment of people addicted by drugs, helping the move towards a healthy life-style.

Turkmenistan actively participates in international agreements aimed at preventing spread of drugs in the region and the world.
