BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. Uzbekistan looks to implement the experience of Singapore in the fields such as infrastructure and human resources, Trend reports via the press service of the president of Uzbekistan.

The matter was discussed between Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Singapore Halimah Yacob, and Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong, during Mirziyoyev's visit to Singapore.

Uzbekistan expressed a willingness to improve urban infrastructure and its communication ties. In this regard, the sides have agreed on measures for cooperation in the field of urban planning and construction, landscaping, and public utilities. The first step in this direction was the agreement on the establishment of a joint Design and Engineering center in Uzbekistan for the implementation of infrastructure and industry projects.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of Uzbek human capital, as well as the training of highly qualified personnel for public administration. As the result, was decided to create a joint program for training and advanced training of civil servants in the fields of management, urban planning, infrastructure development, digital transformation, innovation, education, and healthcare.

Furthermore, the sides also talked about the possibilities of introducing Singapore's achievements in the field of digitalization, as well as the use of innovations and technologies of this country in the field of green development of Uzbekistan.

Earlier in January, Uzbekistan aimed to attract Singapore to the construction of the new airport in Tashkent. The sides talked about the prospects of implementing Singapore's experience in the construction of the new airport in Tashkent. Following the negotiations, the parties signed a strategic partnership agreement.
