BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. Uzbekistan has manufactured 9,436 Chevrolet Damas from January through February 2023, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
During the reporting period, production of Damas has increased by 1.6 percent year-on-year (9,283 cars in the first two months of 2022).
Besides Damas, the country’s car producers manufactured some 5,174 Daewoo Gentra, 7,673 Chevrolet Cobalt, 1,087 Chevrolet Tracker, 467 Chevrolet Nexia T-250, as well as a new model of Chevrolet Onix – 112.
As for the new Chevrolet Onix, recently press secretary of Uzavtosanoat JSC Zumrad Shahdjalilova told Trend that Uzbekistan will launch production of this car in Kazakhstan.
According to Shahdjalilova, the joint manufacture of Onix by SKD method (semi-knocked-down) with Kazakhstan will make it possible to produce 30,000 cars per year.
Furthermore, Shahdjalilova also said that Uzbekistan in 2022 produced 327,639 Chevrolet cars, in particular, Cobalt –101,617, Damas – 93,120, Lacetti – 87,105, Nexia – 22,245, Spark – 14,464, Tracker – 9,088.
