At the end of the third meeting of the Iranian and Russian transportation workshop, the two sides inked a Memorandum of Understanding to boost bilateral transportation cooperation.
Majid Assadi, the Iranian Deputy for Economic Planning for the Ministry of Road and Transportation and Alexander Davidenkoff, the Director of the Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport of Russia, signed the MOU, the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network reported on Thursday.
The officials also signed sisterhood agreements between the Iranian ports of Anzali and Noshahr and the Russian ports of Makhachkala and Olga.
In the three-day meeting of the Iranian and Russian workshop, specialists from the two countries reviewed ways of enhancing mutual cooperation, removing transportation obstacles, alleviating visa problems for drivers, and eliminating barriers for Iranian truckers passing through Russian borders in compliance with the International "North-South" Transport Corridor.
