Iran’s Jalili meets with Syrian VP in Tehran
Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili met and conferred here on Tuesday night with Syrian Vice-President Farouq ash-Shara on the latest international and regional developments, IRNA reported.
Ash-Shara in the meeting said Syria supports the Islamic Republic of Iran's stands on its peaceful nuclear program.
He further said sanctions on Iran are ineffective on gaining achievements by the Iranian nation.
The Syrian vice-president arrived in Tehran on Tuesday evening and was welcomed by Iran's First Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi.
Prior to his meeting with Jalili, he held talks with Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tehran-Damascus ties.
