Malaysian parliament's Vice Speaker Danuk Dan Junaidi met and conferred with IRI Interim Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi here Wednesday evening. 
  
According to IRNA Wednesday Night Service, the II Foreign Ministry reported Salehi as welcoming the Malaysian official and his accompanying delegation, expressing the two great Muslim countries' relations as good and expanding.

He added, "Iran and Malaysia, with the assistance of the other Islamic countries, can take advantage of their potential and capabilities at the service of the entire Islamic world."

The Interim FM said that the two countries' relations does not match the two nations' potential capabilities and possibilities, arguing, "We can take advantage of the great potential of the east and central Asian markets' machine and other goods' production capabilities by making joint investments and production."

He announced Iran's readiness for comprehensive cooperation with Malaysia, reiterating, "Expansion of ties with your country is one of the priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

The Malaysian Parliament's vice speaker, too, welcoming Dr. Salehi's proposals, said, "We believe the Islamic 'Ummah' (nation) is a huge society that can comprise a very large market, including in food stuff field, where the production of 'halal' (religiously permitted) food can be a very good ground."

Danuk Dan Junaidi added, "We can also make joint investments, as you mentioned in production of machines and other goods."

He added, "Iran and Malaysia can have comprehensive cooperation and sell each other's goods and services in neighboring Islamic, and non-Islamic countries as well, thus expanding the level of their fruitful cooperation."
