Vice president: People’s presence at June 14th elections to be amazing

Vice president in parliamentary affairs referring to the records of people's broad presence at various scenes, said epical presence at June 14th elections would be amazing, and awe inspiring for entire opponents and leave enemies of this nation in disrupt, IRNA reported.

Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Mohammad Mirtajeddini said Thursday evening in an interview with an IRNA Political Desk reporter, "The people with their unique presence aimed at creation of another political epic, whose path has been paved long ago by the Supreme Leader of the revolution, are ready to determine the fate of the country for the next four years."

He reiterated, "The more enthusiastic that the people's presence at the election polls would be, the more effective its influence would be both inside the country and at the international scenes, and to the same extent, too, its positive and rare aftermaths at the internal scene, such as strengthening internal solidarity, and at the international scene, such as increasing Iran's prestige would be."

The Vice president in parliamentary and legal affairs further reiterated, "A nation that would be present at the political scenes of its country would humiliate the enemies who are eager to loot its national interests, and this presence would also pave the path for the creation of an economic epic, as well."

He said that one of the other effects of the broad presence of the Iranians at the election polls would be seen at the international scene, arguing, "The West has always resorted to the weapons of democracy and freedoms against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the broad presence of the people would dismantle such plots."

Mirtajeddini added, "The presence of people at the various scenes is a demonstration of the existence of a real and religious democracy, while the enemies who use these concepts as weapons against the Iranian system claim the elections are not real in Iran and take advantage of them aimed at materializing their own objectives."

The 11th round of the presidential election and the 4th round of municipal councils election will be held in Iran on June 14.

Iranian voters will go to over 66,000 polling stations both within the country and abroad tomorrow to elect their next president.

Campaigning for the June 14 presidential election kicked off in Iran on May 22 after the Guardian Council released the list of 8 qualified candidates, although 6 have now remained in the race.

The qualified candidates represent a wide range of political streams from principlists to reformists.
