Iran intelligence seizes big batch of guns & explosives, accuses Riyadh

Iran’s intelligence forces seized two large consignments of bombs, explosives and ammunition in two different operations in eastern and western regions of the country, Islamic Republic’s Intelligence Ministry announced.

The explosives were planned to be used in widespread terror operations in public areas of the country, the ministry said in a statement.

In the first operation, the intelligence sized 23 remote controlled bombs, which were brought into the country through the eastern borders under the “planning and guidance of Saudi Arabian intelligence service,” in order to carry out terror operation, according to the ministry.

The second operation was carried out in Mariwan city, located in western province of Kurdistan, where security forces sized various parts for manufacturing bombs including explosive kits and 150 electronic detonators as well as TNT and C4 explosives, which belonged to a "terrorist separatist group", the ministry's message said.

The intelligence forces also got a hold of 41 grenades, 31 ammunition clips for AK-47 and four RPG-7 rocket propelled grenades.

The guns, ammunition and explosives was brought into Iran from Iraqi Kurdish region, the ministry said.
