Elections in Azerbaijan were held in accordance with local laws and norms of international law, deputy chairman of the Inter-Commission Working Group on International Cooperation and Public Diplomacy of the Public Chamber of Russia Sergey Markov said during the press conference on the results of presidential election in Azerbaijan on Thursday.

According to him, in the course of the election, representatives of the observation mission of the Public Chamber of Russia visited 24 polling stations, 18 of which were in Baku.

Markov said that the presidential election in the country were held transparent and with high voter turnout.

Also, he said that during the election all conditions were created for both the candidates and voters.

In addition, the Russian observer noted the weakness and disorganization of the Azerbaijani opposition, which, according to him, is in a serious systemic crisis.

Azerbaijani presidential election was held on October 9. According to the results announced by Azerbaijani CEC after processing of ballots from all polling stations, President Ilham Aliyev gathered 3,126.612 votes (84.55 percent).
