Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb. 25 /corr. Trend N.Kirtskhlia / The President of Georgia called on his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev to arise higher than his personal interests for the interests of people. "I always placed above the interests of my people, but not my personal interests and I call Medvedev to do the same," the President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili stated on Feb. 25 in the museum of Soviet occupation.
"We were repeatedly insulted in Russia. Films were taken about us, they called us different epithets, but we did not pay attention to this in order not to place personal interests above state," he noted.
Saakashvili emphasized that he has never spoke offensively or disrespectfully with regards to the Russian leaders. "I can certify all that I have never insulted Russian leaders and no one heard from me disparaging epithets with regards to them," he said.
The President of Georgia called Medvedev to move aside all differences and offenses and "to begin worthy and equal co-operation".
