Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili, met with Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk on Friday during his visit to Warsaw. After the meeting, they issued a joint statement.

Ivanishvili thanked his counterpart for Poland's support to Georgia on its path to European integration, as well as for the policy of non-recognition of the separatist regions of Georgia and participation in the EU monitoring mission, Georgian PM's press service reported.

According to Ivanishvili, the talks covered the issues of multilateral cooperation, including the cooperation in the spheres of economy, cultural and humanitarian relations, agriculture and local government.

"I am glad that I have met my Polish counterpart, and we had the opportunity to discuss many issues. I invited him to Georgia, and I hope that soon he will be able to pay a visit in the near future. Our meeting gives a reason to believe that our relationships will deepen, and I will be happy if in the future we will have the same great support from Poland," Georgian PM said.

Polish PM Donald Tusk said that he welcomes Georgian PM's visit to Warsaw, because he represents a country with which Poland has friendly relations.

"Despite the political changes, the friendship between the two countries has become a practice. I am sure that the democratic reforms initiated in Georgia will be continued. I am sure that Ivanishvili will be a guarantor of compliance with European standards, and Europe will get the results that are expected from Georgia," Tusk said.

He also expressed his readiness to accept the invitation of the Prime Minister to visit Georgia.
