The statement about a meeting between the incumbent president, Giorgi Margvelashvili and the former president, Mikheil Saakashvili in Kiev is a slander, the Georgian president's administration told Trend Feb. 25.

The presidential administration said Saakashvili and Margvelashvili couldn't meet in Kiev, as on those days, Saakashvili was in Washington.

The Georgian newspaper Alia reported about a secret meeting in Kiev between Saakashvili and Margvelashvili.

Grigol Gagnidze, the head of the non-governmental organization 'International Observatory', citing a journalist from Ukraine, told the newspaper that the meeting lasted a few minutes.

Gagnidze said he didn't know what issues were discussed by the current and former presidents of Georgia.

He put forward a theory that probably Margvelashvili during the brief meeting, informed the former president about his intentions to fight against the parliamentary majority.

Margvelashvili was in Kiev and participated in the "Dignity March."
