Georgia’s revenues from visitors from Turkey from January through December 2021 amounted to $121.5 million, which is an increase of 20.4 percent, compared to 2020, Trend reports via the national bank of Georgia (NBG).
The revenues from Turkish visitors to Georgia in December 2021 alone totaled $14.1 million – an increase of 386.2 percent, compared to $2.9 million over the same month of 2020, and 1.4 percent, compared to $13.9 million in November 2021.
Thus, Turkey ranks fourth among the main countries of origin for money spending in Georgia in 2021, the report said.
Georgia’s total income from foreign visitors from January through December 2021 amounted to more than $1.2 billion, which is an increase of 129.8 percent, compared to $541.7 million over the same period of 2020.
