Eighteen people were killed Wednesday in explosions that hit the Iraqi capital Baghdad and the northern city of Kirkuk, dpa reported.
Security officials in Kirkuk said that 12 people were killed and 18 injured in a double car bombing in the city, which is the centre of an oil-producing area disputed between the autonomous Kurdistan region and the central government.
The other six people were killed and 33 were injured in a series of car bombings in several mainly Shiite districts of the capital, officials said.
