The Egyptian army has declared a state of emergency in the Sinai Peninsula in connection with an attack on the local airport by armed groups, Al Jazeera Channel reports.
According to the channel, local tribes have fired at the airport in the city of Arish in the Sinai Peninsula earlier today.
The airport was subjected to fire from heavy guns. Clashes are erupting between the local tribes and the army of Egypt.
