Israel and Syria seek to put an end to tension in the relations between them. They will hold the fourth round of indirect talks soon, the Turkish Foreign Minister stated on 16 July, MIGNEWS agency reported.
Turkey will mediate in these talks as earlier, which will be held in Istanbul soon, Ali Babajan, the Turkish Foreign Minister said during his interview with NTV, the Turkish private channel. However, he refused to divulge an exact date because of security problems.
"Both countries have a political will to solve the problem, Babajan said. If there is no such hope, we will not participate in the talks." The Turkish mediators changed their position the within three rounds of talks. Talks were held secretly in Istanbul, and their results were not announced.
Babajan said that Turkey tried to achieve direct dialogue of countries at the level of private meetings. At present, Israeli and Syrian delegation stay at different hotels of the city, he said.
"Sides do not want to meet face to face,
they have not reached definite level of agreement," the Turkish Foreign
Minister said.
