Israel strikes militants' targets in Gaza in response to rocket fire
An Israeli army spokesman said in a statement Israeli air forces launched a round of air strikes on military facilities and posts in the Gaza Strip, according to local media.
Residents in Gaza City said they heard buzzing sounds of drones and fighting warplanes hovering over the region, adding that sounds of explosions could also be heard.
Israel Defense Forces said the strikes came "in response to 10 rockets fired from Gaza" late Friday at southern Isreal.
The Israel army said the country's Iron Dome anti-missile defense system intercepted eight of the rockets.
One house was hit and damaged, the army said, showing a picture of the damage on Twitter.
No one had claimed responsibility for the rocket fire by Friday evening.
