( dpa ) - Four prisoners were injured in a mutiny in a women's prison in Panama over the weekend.

The conflict occurred Saturday in a prison outside the capital city, triggered by a clash among the women, reports said.

They attacked each other with knives and other sharp objects, injuring four prisoners.

National security police had to be called in to restore order. The women have been protesting over recent weeks for better prison conditions.
