Afghanistan, Kabul / corr. Trend A.  Hakimi / Political party will not support President Hamid Karzai in 2009 elections, spokesman says.

The spokesman for the United Front, Fazil Sancharak, said the United Front does not support Mr. Karzai for his nomination for the presidential elections because of his past mistakes and wrongdoings.

It has been told that president Karzai have asked United Front to support him in the next coming election in 2009 but according to political experts it looks impossible for Karzai to receive positive answer.

The United Front has rejected President Karzai's request for their support in next year's presidential election.

United Front blames Karzai for anti- Jihadi leaders.

Sancharaki pointed out the failure of the Afghan government and the international community in Afghanistan over the past seven years, and said the government and the United Front are not able to solve Afghanistan's problems alone.

Mr. Sancharaki said: "If president Karzai cancels his nomination for the presidential elections, then we will accept his membership in the United Front, and make a joint decision for the country's future."

"The United Front has specified its nominee for the next year's presidential elections," he added.

According to the constitution of Afghanistan, the country's presidential elections must be held at the end of May, 2009. But due to winter snows and security issues, it may not be held on time.

Lack of security in the country is regarded another challenge for holding presidential election in the next year.

Differences between Afghan parliament and Independent Election Commission on the time of holding election is not ended till now but Parliament announced that no one can change the time that is specified in the constitution.
