U.S. appreciates Azerbaijan for supporting NATO ISAF forces in Afghanistan

U.S. appreciates Azerbaijan for supporting NATO ISAF forces in Afghanistan, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, Eric Rubin said during a press conference in Baku on Monday.
"We want to express appreciation for supporting NATO ISAF forces in Afghanistan, which is the very important support," Rubin said. "We also support Azerbaijan's democratic development and the country's civil society."
According to him, he is glad to be in Azerbaijan again.
Rubin met with a number of Azerbaijani high-level officials, NGO representatives and civil society members. During this visit the sides discussed the economic and trade cooperation.
Rubin mentioned that he had an opportunity to discuss the issue of developing the investments between the two countries. The sides also discussed the very important US-Azerbaijani strategic partnership, which is playing a positive role especially in the issue of Afghanistan, where US-Azerbaijani forces are serving together.
The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) is a NATO-led international military contingent operating in Afghanistan since 2001.
