Bolivian President Evo Morales Saturday offered fugitive US intelligence whistleblower Edward Snowden asylum, dpa repoted.
"If we are asked legally, we will give asylum," Morales said in Chipaya, a rural area of the Andean department of Oruro.
Offering "humanitarian asylum" would be "a just claim" after his plane was grounded this week in Europe on unjustified suspicions that he was carrying the former intelligence contractor, Morales said.
