Turkey condemned Friday the assassination of Lebanese lawmaker Saleh Aridi in a bomb attack earlier this week, reported Worldbulletin.

"This attack aims to undermine stability and peace in Lebanon. There is no doubt that the attack intends damaging the national dialogue and reconciliation established with the Doha agreement," said a statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

"Considering terrorism as a crime against humanity, Turkey strongly condemns this heinous attack," the statement said.

The statement also said that Turkey would continue to extend its support and contributions to the protection of an environment of tranquillity and stability in Lebanon.
