Advisor to Turkish Prime Minister Etienne Mahcupyan, an Armenian by nationality, was dismissed from his post, Hurriyet newspaper reported April 16.

Mahcupyan was relieved of his duties because he called the events of 1915 as the so-called genocide against the Armenians, the newspaper reported.

Mahcupyan, a journalist was appointed the main advisor to Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on October 25, 2014.

Earlier, Mahcupyan issued a statement that some members of the ruling Justice and Development Party of Turkey (AKP) are involved in corruption.

Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey's predecessor, the Ottoman Empire allegedly carried out "genocide" against the Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Turkey in turn has always denied "the genocide" took place. While strengthening the efforts to promote the "genocide" in the world, Armenians have achieved its recognition by the parliaments of some countries.
