In accordance with the decision of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), the Turkish authorities must pay the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) one million euros for the violation of the constitutional rights of the members of the CHP, the Turkish newspaper Milliyet reported Apr. 26.
The ECHR established that the Turkish authorities in 2007-2009 violated the party's right to freedom of assembly and holding activities.
The Republican People's Party appealed to the ECHR in this regard in 2013.
