Turkish security forces killed ten PKK terrorists and captured two others on Saturday in an ongoing anti-terror operation in eastern Bitlis province, according to the local governor, Anadolu reported.
A statement released from the Bitlis Governor's Office said that one PKK shelter, eight AK-47s, several weapons, four improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and several documents were also seized during the field search carried out by Bitlis Gendarmerie Regional Command.
The anti-terror operation continues in the region.
More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
